Made in Abyss Anime Gets 2nd TV Anime Season & Action RPG in 2022
PS4/Switch/PC game in developing stage by Spike Chunsoft
On Wednesday, the official website for the anime adaptation of Akihito Tsukushi's Made in Abyss manga announced that the series would return in 2022 with a new title, Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no gonky (Made in Abyss: The Sun Blazes Upon the Golden City).
Spike Chunsoft is also working on a new 3D action RPG named Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness for the franchise (Made in Abyss: Yami o Mezashita Rensei). The game will have a completely voiced original storey overseen by Tsukushi, and it will be released in both English and Japanese in 2022 for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC (via Steam). In Europe, Numskull Games is providing a physical version.
And Kadokawa previously announced a sequel project for the franchise.
Synopsis: According to the novel, the "Abyss," a massive pit and cave system, is the world's only unexplored place. Its depths are home to strange and marvellous creatures, as well as valuable relics that current humans are unable to create. Humans are fascinated by the Abyss' mysteries, so they descend to investigate. "Cave Raiders" are explorers who venture into the pit.Rico, a young orphan girl, lives on the outskirts of the Abyss in the town of rth. Her ambition is to follow in her mother's footsteps and become a Cave Raider, solving the cave system's mysteries. Rico begins exploring the caves one day and comes across a robot that looks like a human child.
