To commemorate the announcement, character designer Kaho Deguchi created the image below.

The anime first aired in October of last year in Japan. The anime was co-produced by Funimation and streamed live as it aired. In July 2020, Funimation released the first episode of the anime during its FunimationCon virtual event.

Takeyuki Yanase (In Another World With My Smartphone, If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord) directed the first season of the anime at Maho Film, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Black Clover, Dropkick on My Devil!) served as storey editor and screenwriter. The characters were conceived and animated by Kaho Deguchi (If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord, Cutie Honey Universe), with Ririnra credited with the initial character designs. At Lantis, Hiroaki Tsutsumi composed the soundtrack.
The opening theme song "Yasashii Sekai" (Kind World) was performed by the anime's primary voice actor Azusa Tadokoro, while MindaRyn, a renowned YouTuber renowned for sharing her cover versions of anime songs, performed the closing theme song "Blue Rose Blooms" as her first single.

The novels are being published digitally in English by J-Novel Club, which summarises the plot as follows:
Under the protection of the gods, a relaxed life with slimes in another world begins!
One day, the life of middle-aged Japanese businessman Ryoma Takebayashi came to a rather sudden and disappointing end. Ryoma had never had a blessed life, but after his death, three great gods sought his cooperation and reincarnated him as a child in another world with swords and magic!
Receiving a most cordial and divine welcome from the gods, Ryoma decides to live leisurely on his own in the forest for the time being. Working diligently at magic and hunting, Ryoma's greatest passion comes to be researching his tamed slimes?! Training a variety of slimes (some newly discovered), the curtain rises on this easygoing life fantasy celebrating a second life with kind people in another world!

In 2014, Roy began serialising the storey on the "Shsetsuka ni Nar" (Let's Become Novelists) website, which he ended in 2015 and replaced with a new version. The updated serialisation is still in progress.

In Square Enix's Manga Up!, Ranran released a manga adaptation of the novels. In November 2017, the app was released. The manga was licenced by Square Enix Manga & Books, and the first volume was released in November.

Funimation has confirmed that the upcoming season will be streamed.

The first season closes with Eliaria departing for the capital's school and promising to reconnect with Ryma in three years, according to the anime's website. The second season is not explicitly stated to begin three years later. Thank you very much, myskaros.
