Rusted Armors Anime Schedule for January 2022

Rusted Armors

On Thursday, the September issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Gene magazine revealed that the Sabiiro no Armor (Rusted Armors) anime will premiere on television in January 2022.

The franchise began as a series of 2.5-D stage plays and has evolved into a multimedia project. The first production took place in 2017.

In January 2019, artist hagi published a manga version of the project (pictured right) in Monthly Comic Gene. The manga's second volume will be released in January 2020.

On May 14, Kairi Shimotsuki debuted a new manga for the franchise called Sabiiro no Armor: Reimei (Rusted Armors: Daybreak) in Monthly Comic Gene.

Normally, "2.5-D" stage play projects are based on existing anime or manga, but in the case of Rusted Armors, the stage play came first. The project is managed by Nelke Planning. The story revolves around the relationship between the gun-toting Magoichi, the leader of the Saika Ikki mercenary group, and the Sengoku era warlord Oda Nobunaga. Taiki Sato of Fantastics from Exile Tribe will reprise his role as Magoichi from the multimedia project's stage play for the anime. Toshiki Masuda, who played Oda Nobunaga in the stage play, is also set to reprise his role.

Shimotsuki (Brave10, Madness, Devil Kings Basara) recently completed the Arthur Bright manga with the fourth volume, which was released in June 2019. Shomotsuki debuted the manga in May 2017 in Tokuma Shoten's Comic Zenon magazine.
