She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man Anime's PV Reveals January 2022 Airing

On Tuesday, Funimation began streaming a new English-subtitled teaser trailer for the television anime adaptation of Hirotsugu Ryusen's She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man (Kenja no Deshi o Nanoru Kenja), which it is co-producing. The teaser reveals that the anime will premiere in January 2022. (the anime was previously slated to premiere this year).

The series will be streamed "exclusively" by Funimation.

Mira, the disciple, will be played by Nichika Omori in the show. At Studio A-Cat, Keitaro Motonaga (Jormungand both seasons, Date A Live first three seasons) is directing the anime. Takamitsu Kouno (Utawarerumono: The False Faces, Absolute Duo) is in charge of the series scripts, Kumi Horii (LBX Girls, Infinite Stratos 2) is in charge of character design, Go Sakabe (Date A Live franchise, Digimon Adventure tri. film series) is in charge of music composition, and Yasunori Ebina is in charge of sound.

Solomon is played by Ayumu Murase. The character is described as follows by Funimation: "the king of Arkite Kingdom, and another player character, similar to [Danblf], in whom he has a great deal of faith. Solomon presents himself as a dignified leader in front of his subjects, but he's actually a pretty friendly person who cares about his kingdom and spends his time dealing with geopolitical conflicts and monsters."

Luminaria is performed by Minami Hinata. The character is described as follows by Funimation: "one of Arkite's Nine Wise Men and a player character who is old friends with [Danblf] and Solomon She's a super-powerful sorcerer known as 'Luminaria the Calamity,' but when she's around Mira, she's pretty laid-back and touchy-feely."

Sakamori Kagami was one of the top players in the VRMMO Ark Earth Online as Danblf, a veteran summoner with the gravitas to match his elite status. When he falls asleep playing one day, he's transported to a world where the game is reality—but instead of his all-powerful avatar, he's stuck in the body of a cute young girl! He can't let anyone know that this little cutie is really Danblf, so he takes the name “Mira” and claims to be Danblf's disciple. If this gets out, he'll never live it down!

Ryusen began serialising the storey on the website "Shsetsuka ni Nar" (Let's Become Novelists) in April 2012, and it is still ongoing. The storey will be published in print by Micro Magazine, with illustrations by Fuzichoco (The 8th son? Are you kidding me?, R.O.D Rehabilitation art), with the first print volume published in June 2014.

In July 2016, Dicca Suemitsu published a manga adaptation of the novels on Micro Magazine's Comic Ride manga website.

On August 12, Seven Seas published the first novel volume in print, and on July 20, it published the first manga volume in print.
