The Eminence in Shadow Anime New Trailer Reveals Additional Cast
On Saturday, a stage presentation at the AnimeJapan 2022 event debuted a new promotional video and graphic for Daisuke Aizawa's The Eminence in Shadow (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) light book series television anime. The anime will also launch in October, according to the event.
The anime is directed by Kazuya Nakanishi (chief animation director for Darwin's Game, Granbelm) at Nexus (Darwin's Game, Granbelm). Tzai's original character designs are being adapted for animation by Makoto Iino (Suppose a Kid From the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town, Demon Lord, Retry!). Kanichi Katou (Black Clover, Those Snow White Notes) is in charge of the screenplay for the series.

Both the light novels and the manga adaptation were licenced by Yen Press, and the first volume is described as follows:
Even in his past life, Cid's dream wasn't to become a protagonist or a final boss. In May 2018, Aizawa began serialising the narrative on the "Shsetsuka ni Nar" (Let's Become Novelists) website, and in November 2018, Kadokawa began publishing the novel in print volumes with art by Tzai, beginning with the first volume. In December 2018, Anri Sakano published the manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine. In July 2019, Seta U released a spinoff manga titled Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! Shadow Gaiden (The Eminence in Shadow - Shadow Side Story) in Comp Ace.
