"A Galaxy Next Door" Anime Adaptation Announced For 2023
Amagakure Gido's "A Galaxy Next Door" will be adapted into a TV anime in 2023. In addition, the cast, staff, and teaser visual were revealed.
The story is a heartwarming romantic comedy about Ichiro Kuga, a young manga artist who devotes himself to his unsuccessful manga business in order to support his younger siblings, and his beautiful assistant Shiori Goshiki, who appears at his doorstep. Amegakure commented on the anime adaptation, "I've already seen the character sketches, and everyone is so cute, from Ms. Goshiki and Machi to Kuga-kun, I'm so happy. An illustration by Amagakure commemorating the anime adaptation is now on view on the official website.

Since his parents died, manga artist Ichiro has barely scraped by, forced to support his two younger siblings on just a middle school education. He doesn't even have time to learn how to use a computer, which forces him to keep wrestling with pen and paper. When his art assistants quit to strike out on their own, on top of juggling deadlines, family, and the constant fear of losing his job, Ichiro feel close to a total breakdown. But then a new assistant pops into Ichiro's life, and his prospects immediately start to brighten! She's an incredible artist, she always finishes on time, and she's beautiful, to boot! But she also seems to know an awful lot about him, and, soon, she makes a confession that bends Ichiro's mind beyond the confines of Earth…
In the anime, the roles of Ichiro Kuga and Shiori Goshiki are played by Taku Yashiro and Yu Wakui, respectively. The animation is directed by Ryuichi Kimura, series composition by Jyumon Ichikawa, character design by Naka Otaki, and produced by Asahi Productions.
