The official website for the anime adaptation of Keigo Maki's romantic comedy manga Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie (Kawaii Dake Ja Nai Shikimori-san) announced on Friday that several episodes will be delayed because the production company Doga Kobo was temporarily closed this month due to a rapid increase in staff members diagnosed with the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Doga Kobo shut down on April 6 and will be closed until April 17. The Technoroid Overmind anime has been postponed due to the closure of COVID-19. The anime was supposed to debut in July.

On April 9, the Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie anime debuted on Asahi Broadcasting, TV Asahi, and 22 affiliated networks as part of the ANiMAZiNG!!! block. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as well as an English dub.

At Doga Kobo, the anime is directed by Ryota Itoh (My Senpai Is Annoying), with Shhei Yamanaka as an assistant director. The series scripts are overseen by Yoshimi Narita (HappinessCharge PreCure!, Our love has always been 10 centimetres apart., My Senpai Is Annoying). The characters are designed by Ai Kikuchi (Engaged to the Unidentified, New Game!, How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?). The opening theme song is performed by Nasuo, and the ending song is performed by Yuki Nakashima.

Shikimori seems like the perfect girlfriend: cute, fun to be around, sweet when she wants to be... but she has a cool dark side that comes out under the right circumstances. And her boyfriend Izumi loves to be around when that happens! A fun and funny high school romance with a sassy twist perfect for fans of Nagatoro-san and Komi Can't Communicate!
