The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! Anime Reveals Cast, Staff, Releasing 31 July

Ogura will also perform "FightinPose," the first half of the series' opening theme song, which will be released on August 11.

The anime is directed by Mirai Minato (Masamune-Revenge, kun's Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.). The series scripts are written by Michiko Yokote (Shirobako, The Magnificent KOTOBUKI, Children of the Whales). The character designer and chief animation director is Saori Nakashiki (animation director for Haikara-San: Here Comes Miss Modern Part 1). Kōji Fujimoto (Sus4 Inc.) and Osamu Sasaki are composing the music.

The anime will debut in the "ANiMAZiNG!!!" programming block on ABC TV and TV Ashi's 24-affiliate network on July 31 at 26:00 (effectively, August 1 at 2:00 a.m.). The anime will last two seasons, or around half a year.

The first manga volume will be published in English by Square Enix Manga & Books on July 13 (after a COVID-19 delay), and the story is defined as follows:

The Dark Realm's second-in-command, the Great Jahy, is a terrifying character who is both feared and admired by all. The Dark Realm collapses, transporting the newly tiny and helpless Jahy to the human world, after a run-in with a magical girl results in the loss of the precious mana crystal!

Unfortunately, when you have rent to pay and a career to hold, plotting the resurrection of the Dark Realm from a small, decaying one-room apartment is no easy feat!

The manga has been serialized in Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine, and the sixth volume was published in April 2020.
