Kyoto Animation Has Released Two New Animated Commercials

On Thursday, Kyoto Animation released two new commercials.

"Imagination"

"Meiji Edition" or "Vision"

The "Imagination" commercial was directed and storyboarded by Haruki Sakamoto. Tamami Tokuyama created the characters and directed the animation. The music was composed by Tsubasa Ito.

The "Meiji Edition/Vision" commercial was directed by Tatsuya Ishihara (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya). The character designer and animation director was Aya Hikita (Violet Evergarden I: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll). The music was written by Ginnojo Hoshi.

In 2018, Kyoto Animation announced an anime adaptation of Hiro Yuki's novel 20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku (20th Century Electricity Catalog).

Kyoto Animation's previous commercials have occasionally resembled anime that it would later produce, such as commercials resembling the Free! and Tamako Market anime.

A devastating fire broke out at Kyoto Animation's Studio 1 building on July 18, 2019. At the time, there were 70 people inside the building. In addition to the victims inside the building, a man in his forties on his way to work in the area was injured by smoke inhalation.
