Play it Cool, Guys Anime Adaptation Announced And First Teaser Video Released



Nata Kokone's "Play it Cool, Guys" will become a TV anime in October. In addition, a teaser visual, teaser PV, cast and staff were announced.


Play it Cool, Guys depicts the daily lives of cool, cool, but slightly clumsy boys. They forget to bring their wallets, lift up their glasses even though they are wearing contacts, or play music on their phones because they forgot to plug their earphones into their phones. The story is about "cool doji boys" who are cool and get it right even in their screw-ups. The manga is currently serialized on Gangan pixiv, and four volumes have been published.

The teaser visual depicts the main characters of the series, the cool dudes: Satoru Ichikura, Shun Futami, Takayuki Mima, and Soma Shiki. The teaser PV is filled with the charms of the cool doji boys. The cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi as Satoru Ichikura, a "shameful and remorseful type" who is aware of his screw-ups, and Koki Uchiyama as Shun Futami, a "headstrong and stoic type" who refuses to admit his screw-ups even when they are pointed out to him. Yuichiro Umehara plays Takayuki Mima, the "unaware and painless type" who does not seem to feel anything when he screws up, and Shoya Chiba plays Soma Shiki, the "accepting and positive type" who laughs at his own screw-ups.

The animation is directed by Chiaki Kon, series composition by Makoto Uezu, character design and chief animation director by Airi Taguchi, and animation production by studio Piero. In addition, a congratulatory illustration and comments from Nata have arrived in commemoration of the anime adaptation.
